WHO? WHAT? WHERE? WHY?
My name is Martha Kolokotroni. I grew up in Greece and currently live in Berlin. I have studied Architecture and Urban Design in Thessaloniki (Arch-MArch), New York (MScAUD), and Zurich (PhD) and have worked as a researcher in Singapore and India.
During my studies I have been experimenting with different methods of representation, theoretically and practically, before embarking fully upon my true passion, illustration;
and more particularly I enjoy mostly illustrating and writing children's books.
I mainly work digitally, with Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop and Procreate, but I also experiment with free hand design and collage.
Playing around with colours and shapes and bringing together imaginary creatures with existing animals, makes illustration so fascinating to me!
I also enjoy creating logos, designing cards, posters and invitations for special moments!
My work has mainly published in Greece but I have also worked in projects worldwide.
My latest book "Can you see through my eyes?"
was published in October 2020 by Diaplasis Books in Greece.
When I am not writing or illustrating children's books
you will definitely find me increasing my Vitamin-D levels on a Greek island.
